(1) The Board shall be liable for the total or partial loss, damage or delay in handing over of a registered passenger ticket from the time it is accepted for carriage until it is handed over.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Board shall not be liable in case of loss, damage or delay in delivery of the passenger ticket due to:-
(a) Due to the traveler's fault,
(b) by reason of an order given by the passenger other than through the fault of the Board,
(c) due to the presence of unannounced breakable passengers, or
(d) Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Board and inability to avoid such circumstances. (3) The Board shall bear the burden of producing proof of loss, damage or delay in handover of the passenger ticket for any reason mentioned in sub-section (2).
